Pronouncing ‘a’ and ‘of’ - weak forms and the schwa

Having the correct rhythm when you speak helps you sound natural in any language.

In English, a natural rhythm usually means using strong and weak forms, or saying some words clearly and other words less so. For example,

  • do you WANT a CUP of COFFEE

  • would you LIKE a PIECE of CAKE
